Get to know GROAZ
The mission of the Gravity Riders Organization of Arizona is to promote trail advocacy & education and provide mountain bike specific events for the gravity riding community.
Advocacy, Trail Work & Education
GROAZ is dedicated to creating, enhancing, protecting, and maintaining gravity riding opportunities throughout Arizona. Working with park rangers and land management as well as other mountain bike organizations we are united in our belief that good trail design and ongoing trail maintenance are the biggest factors in mitigating the environmental impact that occurs on multi-use trails. As part of our mission, GROAZ educates on sustainable trail efforts as well as riding responsibly. We continue to develop and maintain relationships with other user groups – hikers, runners, horseback riders – to work together and respect one another.
What else do we do?
As you can guess from above, Trail Work Days are a big part of what we do when the Arizona sun isn’t blazing hot. Yes, it’s actually fun! We have Movie Nights, Monthly Group Rides and get togethers with other bike groups for all to enjoy. Members get to enjoy Shuttle Days, Campouts, trips to bike parks (like Angel Fire, Bootleg and Big Bear, just to name a few!) and other special activities.
GROAZ meets the second Wednesday of every month to discuss the latest happenings, upcoming plans and projects, and events.
